Philip has written the essay for Another Green World: Encounters with a Scottish Arcadia (Art/Books with Cove Park), http://www.artbookspublishing.co.uk/another-green-world/   featuring Alison Turnbull’s photographs of the extraordinary, secluded Linn Botanic Gardens on Loch Long, western Scotland, with a launch event & talk by Philip and Alison at Camden Arts Centre, 18 November.

This autumn he will be speaking at literary festivals in Southampton, Folkestone, and Guadalajara.  In November he will be awarded an honourary doctorate by Southampton Solent University.  On 9 January, he will be reading at the Moby-Dick marathon, New Bedford Whaling Museum, Massachusetts. http://www.whalingmuseum.org/programs/moby-dick-marathon

Next spring Philip will be touring with the Kings of the South Seas, presenting the story of British whales, and whaling.  He is also working with film-maker Jessica Sarah Rinland and scholar Edward Sugden on a project for the Utopia season, Somerset House, London, 2016.
